Greyhound Racing policy

The League Against Cruel Sports is very concerned about the welfare of greyhounds and whippets used for racing and coursing.

Dogs are frequently run on tracks that lead to injuries, dogs are often abandoned when no longer wanted, and the industry does not provide sufficient or well-funded accommodation for the dogs involved throughout their lives.

The League believes self-regulation has failed and that new regulation, backed by enforceable legislation, is required to ensure that the cruelty currently associated with dog racing is ended.
